HOW TO JOIN 

The World Heritage Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (WHA) works to support World Heritage conservation, sustainable tourism, and local economic development for communities in and around World Heritage sites. 

Members & Partners
Travel industry members of the World Heritage Alliance commit to the following initiatives:

• Participate in employee training programs on World Heritage and responsible tourism
• Engage customers through outreach materials
• Partner with sustainable and local suppliers in and around World Heritage sites
• Engage company employees
• Create or sponsor a community-based development project
• Promote awareness to support sustainable tourism and World Heritage

The WHA encourages industry members, including hotels, tour operators, cruise lines and airlines, that are willing to actively commit to sustainable policies and World Heritage conservation to join the Alliance in its efforts. The Alliance gives preference to industry members that have a direct impact on World Heritage sites where the WHA is present.

Associate Partners
Associate partners include non-governmental organizations, civil society groups, governmental bodies, media or other organizations that are not a member of the travel industry, and are interested in supporting the World Heritage Alliance for Sustainable Tourism's mission.
